We will focus mainly on the first level techniques Ten no Kata and from there draw a line to the highest level of this ryu Shizen Shigoku to see how the fundamental principles apply when opponent is resisting and doing counter.
Shinden Fudo Ryu is an interesting part of our Bujinkan history. It is passed down to our present soke from Takamatsu sensei who learned this ryu from his Grandfather Shinryuken Masamitsu Toda sensei, however its roots stretches back to the mid 12’th century. It is from this ryu we have “The Precepts of perseverance in the martial ways” . The secrets of this ryu is “the principles of nature”. As you know Soke would often tell us to move naturally. This ryu is emphasizing that and there is no kamae in the school.
Each kata in this ryu have two written ura gata in the densho which we will explore at the training as well. By training properly in the principles of Shinden Fudo Ryu Dakentaijutsu we may finally enter the kami waza or the theme of 2014 as put out by our soke (Shin Gin Budou).
Usually the I have kept the day training’s to be from 10-16 but because this as a bit comprehensive and I want to give you all then I have added an hour in each end.
